Client Acquitted of Obstructing Police: Court Agrees Officer Acted Unlawfully During Stop and Search
Director / Solicitor Advocate
Year of Qualification: 2005 (Admitted to the Roll); 2011 (Called to the Bar)
I am a director of Hill Twine Solicitors and qualified as both a Solicitor and a Barrister. I also sit as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Court) in London and the South. I currently practice as a Solicitor-Advocate (a Solicitor who has the ‘rights of audience’ to appear in the Crown Court and appeal courts). I have specialised in Criminal Defence since qualification in 2005.
I am passionate about defending the rights of individuals who are often vulnerable and facing the daunting prospect of a court appearance.
I deal with serious and complex crime and regulatory cases. I am Hill Twine Solicitors & Barristers lead specialist in Armed Forces proceedings. I also have a particular interest in representing clients charged with road traffic offences; I understand the significance to people’s personal and professional lives when facing the loss of a driving licence.
I have represented many professional and high-profile people and appreciate the sensitive nature of an appearance in court. I am particularly skilled in dealing with unusual cases heard before the court, matters which aren’t necessarily considered to be criminal, such as Tree Preservation Order prosecutions. One of my most unusual cases was dealt with by the High Court and focused on whether selling police uniforms is a criminal offence.
I enjoy travelling the world, particularly when combining travel with a ski trip. I enjoy outdoor pursuits and I am a very keen cyclist, skier, and open water swimmer. I also love playing tennis.
