Sarah Hill Secures Excellent Outcome for Client in Drink Driving Case
Director / Solicitor
Year of Qualification: 2005 (Called to the Bar - Non-Practising Barrister); 2014 (Admitted to the Roll - Practising Solicitor)
As the Director with business management focus at Hill Twine Solicitors, I am responsible for all practice management, including recruitment and compliance, and the financial side of the business.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work within the Criminal Justice System and I am a qualified lawyer. I was Called to the Bar in 2005 and subsequently cross-qualified as a solicitor. I was admitted to the Roll in 2014.
I joined HMCTS as a Legal Adviser in 2008, working there for 11 years. I started off working exclusively in Crime, dealing with both Adult and Youth Court work. During this time, I joined the Justices’ Clerk Society and was elected as a Council Member, with responsibility for Crime.
In 2016 I was promoted to the role of Family Legal Team Manager for Dorset, Devon & Cornwall, responsible for the performance of the Lay Justices’ tier of the Family Court in all three counties.
Whilst I enjoyed working in the Family jurisdiction I missed a life of Crime! I left HMCTS to join Hill Twine Solicitors at the beginning of 2020 and a return to the Criminal Justice System. Being appointed as Director in 2022 represents the most significant milestone in my legal career to date.
I started to learn to play tennis as an adult and I can usually be found on a tennis court, pretending that my backhand looks something like Roger Federer’s backhand (even in his retirement). I also learned how to ski as an adult and I love combining travelling the world with skiing in unusual places. Skiing in Japan and Lapland are particular highlights.
